The scarlet color of the bottle immediately hints at the nature of the composition and, of course, the smell of blood. This animalic and spicy fragrance is inspired by Ridley Scott's movie Hannibal, shot primarily in Florence. According to Filippo Sorcinelli, But Not Today is synaesthetically focused on Hannibal Lecter, who asked Clarice: "Would you ever ask me to stop? If you really love me, you would stop?" The primal, animalistic, and extremely sexy nature of this perfume composition is not devoid of elegance. The intensity of erotic tension connects it not only to Hannibal but also to Bram Stoker's Dracula. Initially violent, it becomes softer with each minute, revealing deep dark leather with balsams, licorice, and an unexpected yet strong cumin accord. In the heart notes, the perfume composition reminds me of a mix of spices for classic pilav, a quintessential Central Asian dish. It also smells warm, sweaty, and extremely sensual — nothing like my impressions from the first test several years ago (back then, the scent reminded me of rotting organic waste). How wonderful it is to change one's prejudices!
