Purpl Pekji

Turkish artisan perfumer Ömer İpekçi released a conceptual quartet, Reset, in 2021. Besides the fruity rose (Yes, Please) and two iris fragrances (Flesh and Blacklight), the line features Purpl, described with hashtags #vaporwave, #dionysian, #theiamania, and #absurd. Ömer İpekçi invites you to an augmented reality experience: an extravagant dinner party in the style of Heliogabalus, where grape soda flows from the ceiling instead of rose petals. I noticed an overdose of methyl anthranilate; the most vibrant, neon-shimmering accord is a black grape — overripe berry clusters, overly sweet chewing gum, and energy drinks like Monster Ultra Violet. Following fruity and berry notes, which include the refreshing sweetness of strawberries, comes an oyster-like accord. Purpl also has a certain physiological aspect, reminiscent of saliva, which repels many people who try this fragrance for the first time. The vivid contrast between sweet fruits and salty, marine, animalic notes in this perfume composition makes it quite memorable.
